ARCHITECTURE
Morningside and Lenox Park have many architecturally distinguished homes including Georgian Revival, English Tudor, Spanish Colonial, Italiente and Craftsman Bungalow styles; some new, others painstakingly renovated to offer modern features but in keeping with historical details and neighborhood scale.

EDUCATION
Morningside is part of the Atlanta Public School System. Students are served by Morningside Elementary, Inman Middle School and Grady High School. Nearby higher education is provided by Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, Emory University, Spellman College, Morehouse College, Mercer University, and Agnes Scott College to name a few.

EVENTS
Several annual events dot the calendar for the Morningside populace to participate. Whether it's the Celebration of Summer in May, the Monumental Ball or the Taste of Morningside (both held in October), the active populace is committed to community spirit. Morningside and its neighboring communities are also guests to plenty of great events planned in the city, including the King Week celebrating MLK, the Peach Marathons, the family favorite Atlanta Dogwood Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, the Music Midtown Festival, the Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Taste of Atlanta, and the Georgia Renaissance Festival.

Morningside and the surrounding communities in Fulton County offer residents a vast selection of natural resources to enjoy. On the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Atlanta boasts mild weather and four distinct seasons. With this moderate weather, outdoor sports and cultural activities can take place year round. Residents can hike, camp and picnic the many parks nearby, including Daniel Johnson Nature Preserve, Piedmont Park, the Botanical Garden at Piedmont Park, Taylor Park, Lenox-Wildwood Park, Noble Park, Sidney Marcus Park, Smith Park, Sunken Garden Park, Sussex Park, Wildwood Gardens Park and Wildwood Urban Forest Preserve. Golfers may take some tee time out on the green at Druid Hills Golf Club.

Additional points of interest in the area include the High Museum of Art, the prestigious Piedmont Driving Club, Six Flags theme park, the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic site, the Outdoor Activity Center, Fernbank Science Center, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Georgia Aquarium, and the Atlanta Zoo.

ECONOMY
Atlanta offers a very diverse economy, listing service industries, trade and manufacturing as its leading industries. The economic diversity has proven helpful, as Atlanta is slower to suffer during recession and quick to recover. Major employers in Atlanta include Coca Cola, BellSouth, Delta Airlines, Home Depot, UPS, and Georgia-Pacific.
